What is a bridge?
A bridge is used to replace small gaps within teeth. A bridge is fixed to one or more teeth, replacing the missing tooth over the gum.
Bridges can be used for relatively short spans, and can be destructive to the surrounding teeth, placing additional load on them. Careful consideration should also be given to dental implants.
Process
Consultation
Your dentist will examine you and discuss any options available.
Preparation
Your teeth are carefully prepared to accept a bridge, an impression taken, and a temporary bridge fitted.
Fit
The temporary is removed and the new bridge tried in. Once your dentist and you are happy it is cemented securely into place.

How long can a bridge be?
Do bridges look natural?
Bridges can be made to look natural in most circumstances. If you have a high smile line showing the gum implants may be a better option.
Are there risks with bridges?
Bridges increase the loading on your own natural teeth. Whilst this is not always an issue you may wish to consider implants which do not have this issue.
